Joel KempsonFounder - President
Providence Outdoor was started by Joel Kempson in March of 2000. Joel is a graduate of Taylor University and has over 15 years of experience working in landscape maintenance, snow and ice control, and landscape installation. Joel, his wife Christy, and their children Sam, Max, and Hazel live in Carmel.
Founded in 2000 as “Kempson’s Lawn Service.” Providence Outdoor is the result of a 2007 merger of Kempson’s Lawn Service, Palmer Lawn Care, and Four Seasons Lawncare who combined to form a company that could better serve their collective clientele. Since 2007 Providence has grown quickly and in 2014 merged with Noblesville based landscape company Greenview, Inc. Providence currently performs work on 750 residential and commercial properties and employees between 25-30 depending on the season. Providence is currently operated by Chris Rawlins, Ryne Thornton, and Aaron Stevens.

Our Management Team

Ryne ThorntonVP Maintenance Operations
Ryne has been with Providence since 2009. He attended Huntington University and works as VP of Maintenance Operations, overseeing the fertilization, mowing, and snow removal aspects of the business. Ryne, Hannah and their three daughters live in Westfield.
Aaron StevensVP Landscape Operations
Aaron has been with Providence since 2010. He attended IUPUI and works as the VP of Landscape Operations. Aaron oversees the landscape operations and tree services. Aaron and Sally live in Noblesville.

Chris WitekDirector of Landscape Maintenance
Chris joined Providence in 2015. He is currently the Director of Landscape Maintenance and is responsible for irrigation services, annual plant and flower installation and equipment procurement and maintenance. Chris, Morgan and their daughter live in Noblesville.
Chris KinseyLead Landscape Designer
Chris joined Providence in 2016. He attended Ball State University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Landscape Architecture. Chris serves as the Lead Landscape Designer and supervises the installation of hardscape and softscape projects. Chris and Janessa live in Noblesville.
